Javelin pullover

price excl. VAT €7.50

Javelin was born during a very difficult time. On February 24th, 2022 Russia attacked Ukraine and the world as I knew it ceased to exist. I am Ukrainian and my whole family is back in Ukraine. To not fall apart I kept knitting.

Javelin is an old Celtic word, which means a light spear thrown in a competitive sport or used as a weapon. There’s also a portable anti-tank missile system called Javelin, that’s being used by Ukrainians to stop the invaders. I like the melodic sound of it and even though I could come up with a more romantic name for this design, I feel it most appropriate.

Javelin is about strength and resilience. But under the hard textured shell of the top and edges there is a soft and humble soul of the body. The pullover is knit top-down in the round with straight sleeves gathered at the cuffs and a boxy, slightly cropped body.
